The Sugar Grove Fire Protection District protects its citizens in not just Firefighting and Emergency Medical Services, but in Specialized rescues as well. Several of our staff have received extensive training in high risk dangerous technical rescues. This would include; Trench Collapse, Confined Space Rescue (sewers, tanks, vaults), Vertical Rescue (radio and water towers), and Structural Collapse rescues. These Rescue Personnel are trained for the worst natural disasters as Tornado, or ice storms as well. Members are also on the MABAS Division #13 regional Technical Rescue Team which has responded to large scale recues. All members have to maintain monthly and quarterly training evolutions which consists of all 4 types or rescues. To be a Technical Rescue Team member requires hundreds of hours of advanced training in conjunction with courage and strength to be on such an elite team. Only the most highly dedicated individuals are approved to become a member of this team. All members are Paramedics as well which facilitates a high level of advanced life support care during these high risk rescues.
