CPR/AED-FIRST AID
SGFD holds a number of Public Education opportunities for the community and is always looking for suggestions and feedback.
Included in those opportunities are CPR Instruction classes.
We are a remote site for the American Associations’ CTC located at Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois. Depending on your needs, we offer a “Friends & Family” instruction, which teaches you how to Rescue Breathe, perform CPR, and remove a foreign body obstruction from a victim’s airway. In this class you learn the techniques but are not required to take a test, and therefore you are not provided a “CPR card’. However, we also offer a Healthcare Providers class that covers all of the above in more technical detail, including how to use a Bag Valve Mask and an AED (Automated External Defibrillator).
In order to offer a class, a three (3) person minimum is required.
Heartsaver-Adult/Child/Infant w/AED classes are scheduled on the second Saturday of every month.
However, if you have a large group, we do offer special classes.
Class fee is $65.00 per person, which includes a student manual. Pre-registration is required for all classes. Payment is expected at the time of registration. Fee is non-refundable, unless district cancels class due to low enrollment or student calls and cancels at least one week prior to scheduled class.
Online Registration (will only be accepted 7 or more days prior to class date):
Online registrants must make payment at least one week prior to class, or their name will be removed from the registration.
